HELLO
My name is Emily Engdahl. I’m a consultant who brings clarity to chaos.
I'm a Transition Architect who helps organizations and individuals navigate critical passages. I create order from disorder, build sustainable systems, and transfer knowledge so you can continue without me.
I also like to say I'm an artist, community organizer, and someone who refuses to separate practical work from consciousness evolution.
Over 25+ years, I've transformed nonprofit operations, turned around failing businesses, launched startups, built web infrastructure for dozens of organizations, and helped individuals navigate major life transitions.
My work spans organizational transformation, life transitions support, web design and branding, community mutual aid, and creative projects that explore the intersection of mysticism, practical magic, and authentic living.
Think of me as the person who can see what's broken in your systems AND hold space for the deeper transformation happening beneath the surface.
WHAT I DO
I guide organizations through critical transitions. When systems are breaking, growing too fast, or not yet built—I come in, diagnose what's actually happening, create sustainable infrastructure, and build your capacity to maintain it after I'm gone.
I support individuals navigating major life passages. Career changes, spiritual emergence, health crises, relationship transitions—when you need both practical systems AND integrated wisdom support through the messy middle.
I create web and design infrastructure. Consciousness-based businesses, healing practitioners, artists who need technical systems that actually serve their deeper work.
My signature approach: I work to make myself unnecessary. I engage for 6-24 months, build capacity, transfer knowledge, and step back when you're ready.

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT
I see what others miss. Twenty-five years in transition spaces has trained me to diagnose systemic issues quickly. I have literal double vision that creates a prismatic way of seeing multiple perspectives simultaneously—which turns out to be a perfect metaphor for my actual work. I deliver uncomfortable truths with clarity and compassion.
I integrate practical systems with consciousness-based approaches. I'm an ordained minister with 20+ years of spiritual practice and dharma names from Khenpo Lodro Dönyo Rinpoche. This depth informs my work without overwhelming it—I speak business language fluently while honoring the human complexity of organizational change.
I work across forms. Web development, strategic planning, database management, visual design, facilitation, implementation. I don't just strategize—I build the systems myself. I'm equally at home in spreadsheets and in ceremony.
I expect you to do your own work. I'm a capacity builder, not a rescuer. I point out what's broken but I don't always provide the answer—because it's not always my system to fix. This makes me both effective and occasionally frustrating. But it means you actually learn and grow, rather than becoming dependent on me. It also means we’ll implement a solution that works for you - not my idea of how you should operate.
MY APPROACH
Integration over compartmentalization.
I don't separate practical systems from consciousness evolution, strategic planning from spiritual wisdom, or technical implementation from human transformation. Real organizational change requires all of it.
Transformation over transaction.
I'm not interested in surface fixes or maintaining dependency. I'm interested in fundamental shifts that create sustainable capacity. I work with people who refuse to separate their practical work from their deeper values.
Demonstration over theory.
I don't just write reports—I implement solutions, train your team, transfer knowledge. You learn by doing. The revolution is not fought—it is demonstrated, one integrated choice at a time.
Completion over permanence.
When the transformation is complete and you have capacity to sustain what we've created, I hand it off and move on. I'm a catalyst, not a cornerstone. I'm designed for the messy middle, not for permanent infrastructure.

BEYOND THE CONSULTING WORK
I'm a lifelong Northwest Oregonian—several generations, atomically and cosmically rooted. I live in a converted 1920's grocery store in downtown Astoria with 18-foot ceilings, five dogs, and tremendous coastal storms. Living like a goblin in the sturdiest land ark.
I'm also a mixed media artist influenced by 1970's rock posters and Swedish modern design. I create with pastels, paints, glitter, cardboard, textures, stitching, layering, dissonance. My inspirations include Tasha Tudor, Maurice Sendak, Wes Anderson, Hilma af Klint, and folk art. I create because consciousness wants to know itself through beauty.
I practice forest oraclery, offering integrated wisdom sessions using tarot, aura, astrology, numerology, and spirit teachings.
I organize community mutual aid including emergency food swaps responding to benefit cuts affecting local families.
I run creative ventures focused on fragrance education, artisan perfumery, and feminine awakening work.
I'm working toward zero-cost living through community space sharing and cooperative abundance models. Living proof that another way is possible. I never met a challenge I didn't end up loving or a system I couldn't help evolve. I'm a voracious reader, joker, hiker, plant lover, human and dog mama, sculptor, picker, crafter, DIY fanatic, herb collector, energy practitioner, spell maker, moon follower, rock hound, collector of odds and ends, and joyful liver of life. I aspire to befriend crows and/or ravens but I suspect they know my ulterior motives. If you have a spare starling, let me know.
